For 100+€ a night, these rooms felt overpriced and tiny. Ours was just big enough for a double bed, and the sound insulation was really bad. Hearing the person next door snore at night was quite disturbing. We stayed four nights after seeing the pretty good Google reviews, but the experience was disappointing. Not recommended.

The breakfast service really spoiled our stay. We’d booked breakfast separately, but had to leave early on our departure day for a long journey home. When we politely asked whether we could at least get some coffee, we were rudely refused. Since we’d paid for breakfast, we expected at least basic service and friendliness. The staff member’s behavior was completely inappropriate and left a very bad impression. The hotel itself is a bit dated, though generally clean and reasonably comfortable. A little more friendliness could have made the stay much more positive, but as it stands, we can’t recommend it.

The food was consistently excellent, and breakfast had plenty of variety. I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Stadt Hamburg in Gütersloh. The rooms are beautifully furnished, modern but cozy, and made me feel at home right away. The location is wonderfully quiet, so sleep was restful. The owner was warm and welcoming, and the friendly staff always greeted us with a smile and made us feel well cared for. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!
