Ferienhaus Gustl

We've spent our summer holiday here three times now and would gladly come back again. The apartment is very clean, and the landlords are polite and accommodating. ☺️

After renting holiday homes and apartments for 20 years, we can say that Haus Gustl in Bischofsreut/Haidmühle is the most beautiful, cleanest, and best-equipped place we've stayed so far. It's brand new and feels like five-star comfort, even though the rating system only gives it four stars. Whoever decides those ratings! Everything was provided, from rubbish bags and cooking spoons to the plum jam waiting as a welcome gift. You could move straight in and have all you might need. The hosts are friendly and always glad to answer questions. It's a peaceful place for a relaxing break. From the little balcony in the evening, you get a wonderful view over Haidmühle, Dreisessel mountain, and the riding stable next door. In the village, the small Edeka, butcher, and traditional inn are all an easy walk away. The border crossing at Philipsreut/Strazny is about five minutes by car. Strazny is a small Czech town geared towards tourists, where you can still have lunch with drinks and two cappuccinos for under €20, and the quality is very good. There are also market stalls selling goods from the Far East, all supposedly "original," of course 😂. On the edge of town, a small supermarket called "Travel Free Shop" sells cigarettes, spirits, and other "tax-free" items. But not everything costs less than in Germany 🤔

We've stayed here three times now and recommend it to couples and families alike. We'll definitely return :)

The hosts are warm and helpful, and the cottage is really nice and fully equipped. There's plenty to do in the lovely surroundings.
