Pension am Klinikum

We ended up needing somewhere to stay at short notice and, sadly, had to move on after three days. Still, I have nothing negative to say about the place. Everything was just right, and it was very clean and well cared for. There’s a shared fridge in the cafeteria. The only tiny thing is that some of the silicone sealant could be redone. That’s not really a criticism, since it’s bound to wear out when guests leave wet surfaces. Thanks for a great stay.

We went with the kids, and the huge garden was a highlight. From our window, we were lucky enough to see the rescue helicopter landing pad, which they loved. The place has a fascinating Bauhaus style and was tidy and very clean. Check-in was really easy, and the staff were so friendly. A shame breakfast isn’t being served at the moment.

We stayed two nights as a family of four, in a triple room with an extra bed. The room’s decor had a hospital feel, which makes sense since the building used to be a clinic, and gives the guesthouse a character all its own. The Bauhaus style carries through the listed historic building, the rooms, and dining room. Breakfast was excellent, prepared with lots of care, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a quiet residential area near the hospital, convenient by car. If you don’t have one, public transport is easy to get to. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in Halle.

The room was clean, but the shower drain didn’t work properly. Even after a quick shower, water pooled in the bathroom and ran into the room. I mopped it up myself. The beds reminded me of a rehab facility and weren’t at all stylish to my taste. Finding the key box took a little effort, though getting in was straightforward. The entrance is poorly lit after dark. What really bothered me was that two men knocked on my door while I was alone and said there’d been an accident downstairs involving a refrigerator. I told them I wouldn’t open the door, then called the contact number posted in the room. The person who answered thanked me and said someone would come by, but it might take a while. I spent the time listening to every sound. The building carries noise badly, and I could hear voices and doors opening and closing until after 11 p.m. Nobody ever explained what was happening. As a woman staying alone, I can’t recommend it. I won’t be back.
