We returned in 2024 and the quality was still just as high. The local food is prepared with real care, and there are good options nearby for motorcycle rides and hikes. We’ll definitely come again. Back in 2019, we found it friendly, cozy, flexible, and serving high-quality food.

We look forward to staying at this guesthouse every year. The Dollberg family make us feel so welcome, and looking after guests seems to come naturally to them. The food is delicious, and the breakfast is one of those you can only get in Germany. All of it comes at a very reasonable price. We hope to keep coming back for many years. We’ve been coming with a group of 15-20 people in January or February for years, and the friendly hosts, clean rooms, and food have never let us down. Breakfast is generous and delicious too. We hope we’ll be able to keep visiting for years to come. Hospitality really matters here. PS: The photos show the Northern Lights, which we enjoyed from behind the hotel.

After breakfast, which was excellent and had plenty of variety, we took the short walk through the beautiful Liesethal valley, starting right outside. The country house shop is worth a look for regional products. We also drove to the charming old town of Frankenberg and enjoyed the lively atmosphere in Winterberg, both just a short drive away. Coming back to the country house meant another lovely welcome from the very nice owner couple. We spent a weekend there in October 2025, and the two dinners alone made the trip worthwhile. The regional ingredients, skilled cooking, creativity, and craftsmanship made the cuisine feel top-notch. Service was spot on, the hostess was always cheerful and attentive, and the whole house was incredibly clean. It’s a lovely place for a relaxing stay where you can feel at ease.
