I was comfortable here, despite having read plenty of mixed reviews before my visit. For a hostel, the facilities felt reasonable for the cost, and staff were consistently polite and helpful. The room's bathroom and toilet were both small, but having them separate was actually handy. The under-bed storage box was roomy enough for my luggage and other things. There was activity around the station and outside in the evenings, but I never felt unsafe. Security staff by the main entrance helped with that. If you're a light sleeper, pack earplugs; bring a padlock for the storage box and your own towel, though renting one is possible. I'd also carry tissues, since the toilet paper had run out by the end of the day. If you know what to expect from a hostel and want a budget stay in Hamburg, I can recommend it.

The lift didn't work at all while we were there, which was a pain. The location is right by the station, handy for getting around, though the surrounding part of Hamburg isn't especially nice. It's fine if you can hop on the U/ S Bahn. Downstairs, the bar and social spaces were great, and the Brazilian bartender was incredibly friendly and upbeat. Rooms were clean and people were friendly too.

The room was fine, and the staff interaction was OK. The area was the part I didn't like: people were offering things or giving me strange looks, so take care walking around. There are a few alternative places nearby, and the subway is easy to use. My bunkmate was the only other thing that bothered me, but that's outside the hostel's control. It was an acceptable stay, and I'd suggest it for just a night or two.

The location is very handy, just a five-minute walk from Hamburg Central Station and Flix BUS Hamburg Station. Wi-Fi worked excellently, the room was well heated, and the shower had plenty of hot water. Each bed came with a large locker that fit both a 45-liter hiking backpack and a 25-liter backpack. Bring your own lock, or rent one at reception for a fee. There were also two bedside lights with adjustable brightness, two USB ports, and one power outlet. We stayed four nights, but the key stopped working every morning at 10 AM, so we had to go to the front desk each day to sort it out. No apology was offered. In our eight-bed dorm, the shower and toilet were separate but cramped like an airplane toilet. The sink shelf was so narrow I wasn't sure how to wash my face, and the small toilet bin wasn't emptied daily. The lower bunk had so little headroom you could easily hit your head. The two middle bunks were side by side, letting the upper bunk occupants see each other and making it easy to take bedding, earphones, phones, and other things. We locked our backpacks in the under-bed lockers before sleeping. There was no shared kitchen, kettle, or microwave. Luggage storage before check-in or after checkout cost extra, as shown in the pricing image. Towels were available for a fee, but there were no hairdryers in the common areas. Checkout was at 10:00 AM. On our Flix Bus ride to Hamburg Central Station, we saw many homeless people hanging around in the streets even at 1:30 AM. Despite all that, it's a useful budget option if you need to catch a train or bus.
