Reception were polite and friendly, and the place is lovely. The room had everything I needed, though some rooms share bathrooms located on the floor. There are two bus stops nearby, plus Lidl, Aldi, and other food options. Keep in mind there is no heating or cooling device in the rooms, so it's perfect in spring or autumn 🙌🏻

If Mr. D hadn't helped us, we would have spent another night sleeping in the car. Our booking at another hotel had been cancelled, and he saw us in the car outside this hotel. He immediately booked us a room despite the check-in times. The kindest person on earth. If you're in Hamburg, this person and hotel are the best place to stay. Thanks Mr. D for the kindness and hospitality.

The photos make this look like a three-star hotel, but the reality was completely different. I hadn't checked the booking details closely and only learned at the front desk that my room had no bathroom. I hadn't imagined a three-star hotel could have rooms without one. Is this a hotel or a hostel? I paid another 25 euros per night for a bathroom. The place is in an industrial area, surrounded by factories, with highway noise nearby. Public transport takes an hour to get to the center. The double bed was two small mattresses that moved apart, each with its own duvet, so sleeping with my partner wasn't comfortable. Breakfast was the same on all three days. It felt like a former hall turned into a sleeping area, good for a night's sleep and little else. I felt my money was wasted.

We arrived at 11:45, well after breakfast had been put away at 10, but the staff served us anyway because we'd been traveling for over 20 hours, exhausted and hungry. They also let us check in early and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Lovely, simple rooms that were clean and comfortable, an excellent breakfast, and excellent staff. Superb service.
