Hotel Stephan

We felt pampered and refreshed in our spacious room, which was meticulously cleaned and equipped with every amenity imaginable. The accommodations had elegant décor, plush bedding, and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. From the grand lobby onward, the warmth and hospitality made our stay at Von Stephan feel exceptional.

I’ve never had such an uncomfortable pillow. It felt like a bunch of rags, and I woke with neck pain. We booked a double bed, but got two separate beds without being told. The church bell by our window rang until midnight, then every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. The windows barely blocked noise, so we could clearly hear people working outside even on the fourth floor. The curtains didn’t keep the light out properly either. Restless sleep is awful during a trip, and I’d never come back. A normal pillow can’t cost that much. I think the hotel could spend some money on guests’ health.

I stayed here twice for work and would recommend booking somewhere else. Apart from the TV and elevator, the hotel feels stuck in 1950.

We only stayed three nights at this lovely old hotel, and I wish we could have stayed longer. The neighborhood was pretty and quiet, with a welcoming church across the street. Breakfast was served each morning in the covered terrace room, and there was a full assortment to keep us going until dinner. The staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. It’s a wonderful hotel, and I hope saying so doesn’t bring too many people in.
