Altstadtpension Hameln

From the street it looks rather plain, but inside it’s a little gem, decorated with care. The owner was very friendly, and you can even buy homemade jam. Breakfast was beautifully presented, with the best range and variety we’d had in a long time. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished, and the bathroom was super modern and new. There’s also a coffee and tea station in the hallway. The guesthouse is very central, just 700 meters from the Weser River. The room right on the sidewalk was noisy late into the night. Loud cars, delivery trucks stopping outside the window and slamming doors, and people walking by or standing around talking meant sleep was out of the question. I suspect the room at the back is quieter. There’s no private parking, though I was lucky enough to find a spot down the street. The sidewalk in front of the guesthouse is unlit and dark in the evening.

I was stranded because of Deutsche Bahn and needed somewhere to stay at short notice, and they gave me a warm welcome. My room was clean and bright, with adequate furnishings. The location works well for the city center, and I’d definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of everything, little bags to pack a lunch, and homemade jams. The guesthouse is very central, and the rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and very clean. I also liked having a coffee station outside the room. Highly recommended.
