The city views were lovely, especially at night during a storm, and made up for the other drawbacks. The place was beautiful and clean. It’s a shame the buffet breakfast was only available on weekends, and arriving after dark by car can make the road feel a little creepy.

The hotel sits on a small mountain in the forest, and rooms 3, 4 and 5 have balconies overlooking the city centre and river. We got a modern, spacious room with an en suite bathroom. The minibar was stocked and included, the wifi was strong, and pets are allowed with free parking. The bathroom had a comfortable bath, a walk-in rain shower, double basins and a toilet with bidet. They also emailed advice about a better route up the mountain.

A little gem tucked up on the hill above Hameln. There aren’t many rooms, but ours was clean and large, with a complimentary minibar and coffee. The people working there were the friendliest.

We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and both meals were great. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Our balcony suite had a fantastic view, and dogs are welcome too.
