The dog policy doesn’t match what we experienced. We cleaned before every checkout, vacuuming and mopping, cleaning the bathroom, and tidying the kitchen because our dogs bring in fur and sand. Still, Mr. Gotthardt insisted we left a huge mess and made extra work for his cleaner. That felt like complete nonsense. The last stay was the worst. The heating didn’t work and there was no hot water, so our small group spent three nights in rooms below 10°C (50°F). We slept in extra cardigans and socks under two blankets and were still struggling. When we found out about the heating, Mr. Gotthardt said it had failed the previous week. Later he claimed it had only broken that day, shortly before we arrived. He also became very unfriendly when we followed up. We’d told him he could at least have warned us, so we could try to make other arrangements or prepare. We had also verbally agreed to have the whole apartment because our group really needed a separate room. Suddenly he said he knew nothing about it. He doesn’t keep his word. For four people, several dogs and three nights, he offered only €50 off in total. From what we found, a discount of up to 60% would have been due. Given what happened, waiving one night’s charge for all of us would have been fair. There were problems on the earlier visits too. The first time, our holiday apartment was dirty: the floor was sticky and smelled bad, the beds smelled, and coffee from the previous guest was left on the dining table. Our small group had to clean it ourselves. The second visit was similar. On the third, we were placed in workers’ quarters where up to 11 people shared one kitchen and one bathroom. Nobody had told us in advance, and that was unacceptable. Some beds were broken as well. I’m very dissatisfied with these stays. I wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t come back.
