B&B Hotel Hannover-City

The cigarette smell was the worst part for us. We don’t smoke, and the odor came into the room through the toilet area; even our clothes ended up smelling of smoke, despite the hotel saying it was non-smoking. The curtains were dusty and had white marks too. I can put up with the other issues, but I won’t book here again because of that smell, and I hope management deals with it. The room itself is small and basic, with a desk, two seats, a good bed, TV, hangers instead of a closet, and simple bedside tables. The bathroom and shower are small, and the pillows are very soft. There’s no hotel parking, though there’s parking anyone can use for €12.50 a day. The location is central, and you can also look for street parking. Breakfast and the tourist fee came to about €67 for two people for two days. Breakfast was very basic. I think you could find better and cheaper options outside. €50 for two people for two days just for breakfast seems very expensive.

Getting into town is easy: there’s a metro station nearby, with a direct connection to the Hauptbahnhof, and from there you can walk into the city. There are enough parking spaces in the area too. I’ve stayed here several times, which says a lot about how I feel about it. Like other B&B hotels, the rooms are simple, but nice. They aren’t very big, though the layout makes them feel just right. The staff are always helpful. Sometimes on weekends the room isn’t ready at check-in, even after 3 pm, but usually the wait isn’t long. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the 4th floor. On busy weekend mornings, it can be hard to find a table when lots of people come down at once.

The bed was good, though the pillow wasn’t. The room is small but fine for sleeping, and there’s no fridge. Also expect to pay a local tax on top. I couldn’t get through to customer service or reception, either. Nobody answered when I called the hotel number.

A good place to rest between work or leisure activities if you’re not looking for luxury. It’s affordable, modern, clean, and pleasant, and the staff are friendly.
