I slept well despite hearing a few other doors close. There wasn't constant noise, and the shower timer didn't bother me. The room matched the pictures, and I liked the box-like feel. My first room seemed to be connected to a smoking area or to other rooms where someone was smoking, but they changed it for me without any hassle. The carpets could use a proper cleaning, since the stains were very noticeable.

I slept really well here. Boxhotel in Hannover was a great fit for me: I wanted somewhere affordable, easy to reach by train, and safe to sleep, without needing any luxury. The location was great.

The room has a quirky, imaginative layout, very unlike a standard hotel room. It's the kind of place you'll want to photograph and post on Instagram, and the hotel is conveniently close to Hanover main station/Hbf. Just keep in mind it's not a youth hostel. There's little common space, no microwave for heating supermarket food, and no kettle for making tea, though teabags are available in the common area. I love the layout and location. Management might consider adding a microwave and kettle to that shared space.

For the price and location, it absolutely does the job. It's well suited to backpackers, thrifty mensch, or anyone on the go. Just don't expect a lovers retreat.

The heating was awful. It seemed centrally controlled, and my room was so hot I lay there sweating with no way to adjust it. I reckon it was over 28, and I slept for about two hours. Otherwise it's good value, and the rooms are small but clean, as you'd expect for the price. Not having a private toilet isn't great, but manageable. The coffee machine was out of order, though there were a few choices in the vending machine.
