Congress Hotel Am Stadtpark

My single room was tiny, with no room for luggage, and during the week nobody changed the bed even once. The minibar was unplugged, with a note saying it was broken, and the same note was in every room. They left one mini bottle of sparkling water for free, but put the empty bottle back after I drank it. The breakfast was very good, though the staff in the breakfast restaurant were unfriendly. The location and the view from higher floors are great, but more than €200 during the Ligna exhibition was nowhere near worth the price. This definitely didn't feel like a four-star hotel, and wasn't worth half of what I paid.

The little green park behind Congress am Stadtpark, with flowers and fountains, is lovely. I've walked there many times to get over jet lag. There's a tram stop right nearby for trips downtown, though otherwise you'll probably need a car, taxi, or Uber. We come to Hannover every summer to visit family, and this hotel near the Zoo district and Eilenriede area has become our home away from home for several weeks. It's comfortable and suits our needs perfectly. The rooms are very clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and the rates feel very reasonable for the location. We usually visit during the summer off season, when it's quiet and peaceful. The hotel apparently gets a lot of conference guests. There's no room service, but the rooms have a coffee maker and mini-fridge, and there's a lovely restaurant downstairs. We appreciate the room A/C in summer, especially since it cools the space quietly, unlike some other similarly priced hotels we've stayed in. We highly recommend it and look forward to coming back.

The website says there's a pool, but when I arrived I was told it had been gone for eight years. There isn't a pool.

We had a quiet, pleasant stay near Hannover Zoo, where we spent the day with the kids. It was good value, though nothing special. Shops and restaurants are far away. Breakfast wasn't included, and I thought it was a little too expensive.
