Grand Palace Hotel Hannover

The location worked really well, just a walk from the central train station, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby on a quiet side street. Service was friendly and helpful. I had a single room on the fifth and top floor. The decor felt like the 1970s, old fashioned and a bit worn. The hotel is slightly outdated, with a rather dark, anachronistic feel.

The room was spacious and had plenty of light, and the front desk staff were professional and friendly. The rear parking area could use permanent lighting, though. The motion-sensor lights work, but they don’t reach every corner.

I spent 12 hours here during a one night layover in Hannover on 09-08-25, and had to change rooms three times because the air conditioning wasn’t working. The first room was really hot, which the receptionist confirmed. I moved to another room but stayed there only two hours before discovering its AC was out too. At 1 in the morning I complained again, and finally got a room where it worked. In total, I had AC for about six of my 12 hours at the hotel. I do want to appreciate my Formann, who was very attentive about the problem. The experience was still negative because of circumstances beyond his control. I wouldn’t recommend staying here in summer.

Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of variety and fresh food. The hotel is also in an excellent location, and our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well organized. The staff were very kind and welcoming. One small thing: for the price, I’d expect separate shampoo rather than the same product for the shower and hand soap. Apart from that, we really liked our stay and would come back and recommend it.
