The room was quite hot, especially being near the roof, and there wasn’t even a ceiling fan to help. It was cozy enough and clean otherwise. Our inner courtyard room kept outside noise down to ordinary city sounds like sirens. The nearby church was visible from the window and rang every 15 minutes, but thankfully stopped at 10PM. The manager at reception was lovely and professional. Another English-speaking receptionist seemed unsure about several basics: using the payment system, when the church bells stopped, and where we should leave our keys before reception opened at 8 AM. Maybe she was new, but it made things confusing. Breakfast had a smaller selection, but the quality was good. Leaving Haribos and ear plugs for guests was a nice touch. It’s a good, reasonably priced option if you want to stay centrally, though you should be aware that city noise can be an issue.

The room was small, but cozy, clean and well equipped. The staff were polite, helpful and very nice. Breakfast had plenty of variety, though I missed having some hot food. It’s a modern hotel in the city center.

We had a peaceful night despite being right beside several lively bars. The hotel provided ear plugs by the bed, and the large fan was quiet. There’s no air conditioning. The church clock next door begins a full round of bells at 7, so the earplugs are useful if you sleep with the windows open. Don’t let that put you off, we’ll definitely be back. The rooms are modern, clean and have a fridge stocked with snacks and drinks at good prices. If you want to be in the heart of the old town, this is the place.

I got to the hotel at about 22.35, but the entrance was shut and there was nobody at reception. I’d booked on the Booking.com app while travelling by car because the listing said check-in was possible until 00.00. When I called, a young woman spoke only German and hung up while we were talking. I tried another 5-6 times, with no answer. I cancelled, but was still charged. A really upsetting experience.
