Tyros Hotel Hannover

I stayed for 15 days after arriving in Germany, choosing this place because it was affordable. It was a peaceful, comfortable first stop before I moved to my permanent home, and I had no issues. The management were exceptionally kind and welcoming, lovely people from Lebanon. As my first point of connection in Hanover, this place will always mean a lot to me. Highly recommend!

The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was too, but there was a strong smell of damp or dirty water that we couldn't explain. We had to keep the windows open to deal with it. Since it was midsummer and we were there for just one night, that worked out okay. We got a clean hand towel and a large bath towel. The shower was okay but nothing special, and there was no shower gel. Although there was a smart TV, we could only watch regular TV. The room had no WiFi reception at all, so we had to go into the hall to check train times and plan the next day of our trip around Germany. The welcome from the receptionist was warm and friendly. We got the WiFi password without any trouble and were told there was no rush to check out in the morning. The hotel is two underground stops from the city center, with a Netto supermarket around the corner for snacks and breakfast. For what we paid, it seemed overpriced compared with some nicer hotels we'd stayed at in more expensive German cities on this trip. I don't like writing bad reviews, but those were the problems.

There was hair all over the sink and floor, mould on the ceiling and wall, and the shower didn't work. The whole place smelled of cigarettes and was filthy. The most disgusting hotel I've stayed in. A horrible experience.

It's fine for a single night if you don't expect anything fancy. The hotel is old-fashioned, the rooms are noisy enough that you can hear your neighbours sneeze, and it wasn't very clean. Given the quality of the accommodation, the price felt a bit high.
