We were grateful for all the help from Hotel Mira Mare when we found ourselves in a difficult spot. We were driving to Austria when we had an accident on the motorway during the night of December 22-23, 2023. At 3 a.m., we were in Oldenburg in Holstein without a car or anywhere to go. We called Hotel Mira Mare, which answered when other hotels in the area hadn't. After we explained what had happened, they found two rooms for the four of us and gave us a taxi number. The taxi collected us and our luggage just four minutes later, and we soon reached the hotel. The next morning, we spoke with the insurance company about how to continue our trip. We were supposed to leave before noon, but we didn't have a plan until early afternoon. Hotel Mira Mare kindly let us stay in our room until we could continue, and even arranged a taxi for the first part of the onward journey. We really appreciated their kindness and highly recommend the exceptional service at Hotel Mira Mare in Heiligenhafen.

We stayed one night while travelling from the Netherlands to Denmark via Puttgarden. Our spacious apartment had two bedrooms, so it was ideal for a family with two children. There was no private outdoor space, which was a downside, though the beach and park are nearby.

Breakfast was good, and the room had a lovely view. It was a busy night, though, with the kitchen short-staffed and missing a chef.
