Dormio Hotel der Seehof

We booked this hotel for the wellness facilities, but neither the sauna nor the steam cabin was working. That’s the least they should mention on the website. Call to check before booking. The view was lovely, the rooms very clean, and breakfast was good, with gluten-free bread, thanks. Staff were nice but a bit disorganized, with a few misunderstandings. One older, petite, grumpy lady insisted on seeing my room card before breakfast 😆

The bed was broken, with planks loose or missing and the mattress sagging. There was no one at reception after 6pm, the shower gel was empty, and the info tablet didn’t work. The price seemed good at first, but breakfast costs 18 eur and parking is paid too. During breakfast, a lady made me stop what I was doing at the counter and go all the way back to my table to show my room card, because the room number wasn’t enough. I’ve never experienced such tactlessness; apparently they treat guests like thieves. The restaurant wasn’t open in the evening, and the hotel seemed to be closing. There are some good points, but overall it’s overpriced for what you get. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have other options.

Watching the sun go down over the lake from the terrace was lovely. We had a wonderful time there.

The area is great for walking around the Rursee, and our dogs were welcomed with a little gift when we arrived. We also loved the rooms and the timeless style inside, especially the view from ours. It was a really nice hotel, and we were sure we'd return. Sadly, since new owners took over, the quality isn't the same. The suite now costs €120,- more than it did under the old owner, which feels crazyyyyyy.
