Hotel Sarah

The breakfast had a good range, and the rooms are lovely. I arrived to find nobody there, but the check-in machine was straightforward. In the morning, the receptionist was incredibly thoughtful when I needed a taxi: she called three companies, and even offered to have her aunt drive us. Just plan ahead for meals. There’s no hotel restaurant and not much nearby where you can go out for dinner. I managed with the Netto close by.

There’s plenty of parking outside, and late arrival is easy since you can get your key from a code-operated safe. The breakfast room and the food selection were impressive, and the staff were so friendly. Inside, everything felt new, from the furniture to the spacious, well-equipped rooms, and the bed was comfortable. Hotel Sarah was a fantastic surprise. I’d happily spend a night or two here.

Parking was okay, though the lot fills up quickly. We’d stay again. The hotel is welcoming and very courteous, and dogs are allowed on the terrace while you eat. Our medium-sized Black Labrador’s kennel wouldn’t fit in the room, though. Breakfast was a good standard European buffet with meat, cheese, bread, yogurt, and muesli. The air conditioning was a big help on a 96F/35C day, since the room was very cold.

The comforter smelled strongly of urine, and there were obvious water or other stains on the walls, especially near the exposed pipe by the window. The room itself sloped, with more stains on the ceiling, in what felt like a very old, creaky building. The online photos gave a misleading impression. It was also loud enough to hear neighbors talking and walking, as well as whatever was happening outside. My friend and I were only there for a few hours before going to the airport, so this is based on a short stay. We managed to nap and shower, but don’t expect much. I was surprised by the good reviews and pictures online.
