Landhaus Artischocke

We cancelled on Dec 14th 2021, with our three-night stay due to begin on Feb 28th 2022. We got 50% of our money back only after involving a German lawyer and a friend who lives in Germany. Without them, they would probably have kept 90% of the total even though we never stayed there. The lawyer was checking the legal side of the cancellation policy because some parts are very hard for a customer to prove, such as whether the room was booked by someone else for the same dates after you cancel. We had paid in advance by bank transfer, and the Agriculture exhibition we planned to attend was cancelled because of Corona restrictions, so we couldn't go. Read the guesthouse cancellation policy carefully before booking, or you could lose a lot of money. It says they can charge 90% of the total if you cancel within a certain number of days before arrival. They had also raised the room prices because of the exhibition. That may be normal, but paired with this cancellation policy, it feels like too much. We asked if the amount could be used toward two other rooms when the exhibition next takes place, but they said no. This is why we'll stay somewhere else next time there's an exhibition in Hannover.

The atmosphere is great, and the food is amazing.

Good.

The interior is beautiful, and the beds and cushions are so comfortable. Breakfast came with eggs made to order. A wonderful place.
