We enjoyed our stay a lot. The breakfast at Schloss was the standout, easily better than the buffets we had at other chain hotels during our visits to Herborn, Cologne and Paris. There was plenty to choose from, including scrambled, soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs, meat balls, sausages, cheese and lots of bread. The staff were friendly and helpful. Coming from the U.S., we missed having AC in the room, though I think that may be a European thing. Getting in with a key and lock was also a little less convenient than using a room key.

The surrounding nature is amazing, and the town itself feels like somewhere from a fairytale, with beautiful old architecture. The hotel was cozy and clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were beyond praise. It’s one of the most magical ancient towns you could be lucky enough to visit.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the rooms were, with things like slippers, a gown and toiletries. The stay also includes a truly wonderful big breakfast, and the hotel has a spa and gym. For the value, it’s wonderful, and if you’re visiting Herborn, this is the only hotel I’d stay at.

No words, really. Sabina and her team made us feel extremely comfortable. The food and drinks service was great, always delivered with a smile, and Sabina has a great sense of humor.

The location worked really well for us, with the historic sites easy to walk around and the train station just 10 minutes away on foot. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant too. It was very affordable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Compared with similar hotels in the USA and other places we’ve stayed in Germany, this one was superb for the price. Highly recommend.
