Ostseepark Waterfront Karavelle Wohnung 3.5

We were looking forward to a nice holiday in Heringsdorf and were greeted pleasantly when we collected the keys. But on entering the grounds, we saw an older man sitting on a bench watching everything. We politely asked how to get to the parking space, and he immediately shouted at us aggressively. He threatened to have our car towed, call the police, and said we could go straight home, even though we'd only just arrived and had asked a simple question. My wife was deeply shaken by how intimidating he was. It felt as if things could escalate at any moment. We contacted the landlord and learned that he was indeed the caretaker. This is no way to begin a holiday. In our view, this kind of aggression toward arriving guests is unacceptable and could put other guests at risk. He was no help on site, and we wouldn't book this property again. Families with children should be warned in particular. We reserve the right to look into whether this counts as a travel defect.

It's a great spot, just about a minute's walk from the beautiful beach. The apartment could have been nice, but it was very dusty and the floor was dirty in places, so I had to dust and mop myself. Once I'd done that, it was okay for us, which was a shame. The bedding is down-filled, so allergy sufferers should be aware. The caretaker was really unfriendly.

I've stayed here four times now and still like spending my holidays in this apartment. The location is fantastic, one minute from the beach, with restaurants and more nearby. Even in autumn, we had a good holiday overall. This time, though, the pool area let us down. The whirlpool was out of order and quite dirty, and the pool filtration wasn't good enough, with large bits in the water. There were also countless wasps in the apartment every day, which made things uncomfortable and could be dangerous for children, people with allergies, and pets. The caretaker could be friendlier too.

Everything we wanted was in this fantastic apartment, which was furnished perfectly and had a lovely conservatory right on the beachfront promenade. The Baltic Sea is less than a three-minute walk away, and shops and good restaurants are close by, so you can get around on foot. We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely return. Highly recommended! Dogs are very welcome here, too. There's a small cleaning fee, and even our large German Shepherd was no problem.
