SEETELHOTEL Ahlbecker Hof

The staff were very nice, breakfast was top notch, and the hotel’s location is good. But we booked Ahlbecker Hof for the room design, layout and Baltic Sea view, and ended up in a different building a block away. The room didn’t look like the website photos and had no ocean view. That felt misleading and wasn’t worth the rate.

The food was so good that we didn’t feel like eating out at all. Dinner service was excellent every evening, with varied, exceptionally high-quality dishes. The wine cellar is second to none, and Mr. Tornow gives outstanding wine advice. The young service staff were also extremely attentive and professional, which reflects good guidance and training. We were back at the Ahlbecker Hof with family and friends, enjoying the winegrowers' duel, the Grand Schlemm weekend and a few extra days. It felt like coming home: valet and reception were attentive and respectful, and staff throughout the hotel made an effort to address guests by name. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, and housekeeping was impeccable. We went to the spa almost every day for the soft towels and range of saunas. The bathrobes deserve a mention too, just the right size for both my wife and me. Another lovely stay. We hope to come back soon for Grand Schlemm or one of the gourmet canteens, and would love to feel at home there again.

The hotel manager surprised my son with a birthday gift from the hotel, which was a lovely gesture. The room, staff, breakfast and spa were all very good, and the location in Usedom was hard to beat. I took off one point because the Wi-Fi was very slow.

Right by the beach and marvelous pier, the hotel has a lovely outdoor terrace for breakfast, lunch at the Brasserie, and dinner. It’s centrally located along the 12 km seafront promenade and has an outstanding facade. The atmosphere is elegant and nostalgic, though don’t expect Adlon (Berlin) level. The staff are friendly.
