We left a day early, and I can’t recommend Apartment 1 at Villa Amalia Ahlbeck. We have two small dogs and only book places with a fence. I asked about one when booking, but got no answer, and the photos didn’t make it clear. The house rules also had a lot of instructions, especially about dogs. They cost €10.50 per dog per night and apparently aren’t allowed to do anything. It really felt like dogs weren’t welcome. When we arrived, all the heaters were set to zero and the tiled floor was freezing. The apartment felt like a sterile office, with very careless furnishing: no cushions or blanket on the couch, nothing. Dead bugs were under the bedroom heater and, when I looked more closely, throughout the apartment. There was dirt and cobwebs under the couch. A ball rolled underneath, and I was disgusted when I pulled it out. I took a photo of the vermin but unfortunately can’t attach it. The large wardrobe is just a shelf with a curtain. The beds are fine, but bring your own pillows. The bathroom fan was as loud as a tank and should be repaired, just a suggestion. There was hardly any cutlery or crockery, and the freezer compartment was broken. We’ve stayed in several holiday apartments, and this was by far the worst. We wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstances.

The “Old Lighthouse” apartment was perfect for us and our toddler: central and close to the beach, but still quiet. It’s charmingly furnished, well equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Amelia was a wonderful host, super friendly and always ready to help. We had a lovely time and would be happy to come back! 😊

The house has that classic Imperial seaside resort style, and it was clean and tidy inside. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Still, the road right outside is fairly busy, the walls are thin, and the kitchen is unfortunately very sparsely equipped.

There was parking at the building and the beach was close by, which were definite pluses. But we didn’t feel completely comfortable in apartment 3. The bathroom was extremely small, and the place felt dingy and wasn’t clean enough when we arrived. The Wi-Fi was very poor, which made watching a movie or working on a computer difficult. A better vacuum cleaner would let guests at least clean the apartment themselves.

The location is excellent, less than 200 meters from the beach, with a great snack bar right by the beach entrance. The apartment was nicely furnished and clean, and everything else was perfectly fine. The only drawback was that the bathroom felt quite small for four people.
