Villa Auszeit Hotel Garni

The staff seemed friendly and considerate, and the hotel is in a great location. We booked a four-bed room, which was big enough, but the furnishings left a lot to be desired. There was very little bathroom space and no kettle. For the price, that was disappointing, and it felt like corners were being cut in several places. There are a few paid parking spaces outside. The pool water was clean, but the lights kept flickering, the clock and hair dryer didn't work, and the sauna was out of service. I expected more from breakfast at that price, too.

The rooms are furnished in a comfortable, attractive way, and the pool and sauna are very nice. We found the staff friendly and the breakfast great. We'd be happy to return.

The breakfast was very good and plentiful, and the pool and sauna were included. Still, the price-performance ratio wasn't very good. In August 2025, the room cost €175 a night, plus €7 for parking and the tourist tax. The hotel is in the second row of buildings, but fairly central. The room was tidy, though it was only cleaned every three days, which I found unacceptable for that price. Furnishings were sparse: the room light could only be switched from the switch by the door, and there was no minibar or fridge, or air conditioning.

The location is still fantastic. We can pop down for a quick swim in the Baltic Sea before breakfast. We've stayed at Villa Auszeit often, and once again had a balcony room that suited all our needs. The ladies at breakfast have been so friendly for the past 10 years, especially Dorota! What has changed for the worse is the service since the owner of the Admiral Hotel took over the Garni Hotel. There's no fridge or minibar in the room anymore, and no reception there, so we had to check in and out at the Admiral Hotel. The cleaning service was the biggest disappointment. Cleaning, fresh towels, and trash removal are officially supposed to happen after three days, but it didn't happen during our Monday-to-Sunday stay. We ended up sorting it out ourselves. Next time, we'd rather pay more and stay with Mr. Herrgott at the Hotel Strandhus in Ahlbeck, where personal service and contact matter most to us.
