Villa Bleichröder

We especially liked the view from the back porch toward the beach, and the heated pool downstairs. The villa had a lovely blend of old charm and modern style, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. My family and I spent a weekend there in January, and we'll certainly be back!

The breakfast looked much better in the pictures than it was in person. Some vegetables at the buffet already had visible white mold, and the gluten-free bread was moldy too. The cheese and ham were cheap varieties and not especially tasty, and the jams and bread selection were nothing special either. The sauna and wellness area seemed not to have been renovated in decades. You have to pay extra for the sauna with coins, but after 4 pm nobody was there to exchange them or provide towels or bathrobes. The pool was very old and didn't look inviting. They also charged €30 a night for our small pudel dog, €60 for the weekend. Our dog is an allergy dog who doesn't shed or smell, and we brought all the required dog supplies, so it felt like a lot to pay for no extra work. If you're traveling with a dog, we really wouldn't recommend this place. The hotel is managed remotely from Berlin, and it shows. After 4 pm the hotel is closed; guests can come and go, but there's no one at reception. We weren't impressed, and the value for money just wasn't there.

We loved how private and secluded Villa Bleichröder felt during our January weekend with friends. The historic villa sits just steps from the beach, surrounded by a lush, park-like garden. Each room has its own charm, mixing neo-baroque decor with modern touches. After a swim in the ice-cold sea, we made good use of the sauna and pool, and there was plenty else to do as well. The service was exceptional, warm-hearted, understanding, and supportive of everyone's different needs. We can't wait to return in summer and have drinks on the sun terrace.

Breakfast was delicious, and the terrace was a wonderful place to begin the day. We had a great stay in the main house, with a beautifully designed, comfortable room.
