Villa Louise _ Nr_ 7

We were very happy with our stay. The rooms were well equipped, and breakfast came with a view of the sea. Our bedroom faced the water, so waking up to that view was lovely. In the living room, which looked onto the courtyard, there was also a small window with a sea view, though the windows in our apartment were small.

The modern bathroom was the one real highlight of our ground-floor apartment, which had a terrace and garden right by the beach promenade. On arrival, the place smelled strongly and unpleasantly, like a cat litter box, and the kids noticed it straight away. It looked fairly clean at first, but when we opened the pull-out bed in the guest room, there were obvious red stains on the mattress. The living room walls were badly scratched by the dining chairs, and the couch was covered in white stains we couldn't identify. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, though many of the cups were chipped around the rims, so be careful with them. We reported the problems right away and were brushed off. Considering what accommodation there costs, it's fair to expect a certain standard. We're not fussy and don't have unrealistic expectations, but at THIS price, we expected more. I can't say what the upstairs apartments are like, maybe they're better, but the ground-floor units are a complete no-go.

We spent a week in the ground-floor apartment with a terrace last year, and wouldn't recommend it. You feel exposed inside because anyone can see in. The terrace looked out over transport vehicles that changed several times a day, not the Baltic Sea, and every five minutes a bus roared past. It was loud. The bathrooms were clean, but we had to sweep and vacuum ourselves to get the apartment even remotely clean. Some dishes were greasy, and the glasses were so scratched we didn't want to drink from them. Many lights didn't work, the terrace beach chair was broken, and the parking space was far too small. There was no rack for hanging our swimwear, and the washing machine in the basement was filthy. Then they tried to hold us responsible for damage we hadn't caused. It all seems to be about the money.

Villa Louise has parking on the property, which is handy, but everyone needs to park properly or it gets very cramped for the others. I stayed in apartment 1 two years ago, and tomorrow I'm heading to apartment 7. Both are highly recommended vacation rentals, comfortably furnished and with very little left to want. It doesn't get much better.
