Villa Utpatel

August 8-18, 2021. The room had a small veranda and terrace, but we didn't use the terrace since it faced the street and people could see you during traffic jams. It was noisy inside too. The place was dirty, with dust bunnies everywhere, grimy carpet runners and chair cushions, and sheets with holes. One side of the bed was broken, and the floor strip by the entrance door was broken too, making flip flops unsafe. The TV picture cut out sometimes. Communication with the landlord was poor. Not worth €100 a night, I wouldn't recommend it.

The ground floor apartment had a terrace, which suited me since I'm a smoker. The bathroom was nicely tiled, and the beach was only a five minute walk away. There's a Netto nearby for cheap shopping, and restaurants close by too, though I can't recommend all of them. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it!

For the price, it's pretty okay. The room was fairly clean and the beds and bathroom were fine, though that energy saving bulb over the mirror is a joke. You'd see more with a flashlight strapped to your head, so the landlord should change it. It's about ten minutes to the beach, and the parking space outside the building isn't easy to find at first because the directions you get are wrong. The landlady doesn't seem to keep track of room bookings very well, so the apartment booking may change again. There's heavy through traffic from 7 in the morning, but who wants to sleep in on vacation anyway?

The owners were very friendly and even took care of extra requests, like my asking for a second pillow. The place was well equipped and quiet. The beach is just a stone's throw away, and shops are right around the corner.
