Landhotel Altes Zollhaus

The natural surroundings are beautiful and helped make the stay bearable, though they were almost the only reason I didn't leave early. This is my third vacation here in three years, and I'm genuinely disappointed. I worked in restaurants for many years, so I know what a larger group needs. The leadership and care were lacking, and the promise of a yoga hotel wasn't met. As a vegetarian, I expected healthier, more nourishing meals. Instead there were meat platters in different combinations, and the other choices left me feeling heavy and constipated rather than cared for. We ordered ahead, but it still took ages for everyone to get food at the agreed time. The kids waited almost an hour. We paid nearly twice the price shown on online booking sites, 115 euros versus 67. Given the service so far, that's hard to justify. Compare prices before booking. My retreat leader had to make up for the poor handling during the preparations, which shouldn't have been her responsibility. Some of us attendees also had to help prepare the retreat, a service we expected from the yoga hotel. The staff didn't seem ready for a group our size. You could see, sense, and smell their frustration and unhappiness. I feel for the team.

The nature around the hotel was amazing, and inside it was artistic and packed with facilities. The staff were friendly, the yoga teacher was great, and the spa was lovely. Clean rooms and great coffee too. I had a really good time!

Such a great place, with amazing food and people who were friendly and helpful with everything. Excellent experience! 🥰

Cool hotel, with a nice breakfast and great dishes at dinner.
