A train station is directly across the street, with a 20 minute ride to Dusseldorf and the same line taking you to the Central Railway station, where changing trains is easy. Hilden is a nice suburban area with plenty of restaurants and places to get drinks. The hotel is very nice for its price and location. They have a small staff, so being polite and letting them know when you'll arrive makes their lives easier. I'd stay again.

We were two people and found the room a bit small but manageable, though I can't say how the single rooms are. The TV was ridiculously tiny, about 18 inches, and didn't work. There was no soap in the bathroom, but at least it had a toilet and shower, and you could use the conditioner to wash your hands. The bathroom was very cramped, and I wouldn't want to shower in it, though it's possible. Soap would have brought this up to four stars.

Getting to and from the airport is easy on a direct train, and it's the same line to the Central Railway station, where you can change easily. The location is very convenient. There are just two sisters running the place, and they don't really understand English. My central room was really huge, though the bathroom was tiny. The radiator couldn't keep such a big room warm, so it got quite chilly. Also, there's no lift, so you'll need to carry your bags upstairs and back down.
