The hotel is charming, with a historic renovation, right in the heart of the city. Rooms are reasonably priced, and breakfast has an excellent, wide choice of food and drinks. I took off a star for the paid parking and unusable internet. The Wi-Fi was so weak I couldn't connect to the hotel network at all. There's a lot of potential here, but the technical problems need attention.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were polite. The room-cleaning opt-out bag, which you leave on the door handle to get goodies, is a fun little touch. Dinner was poor, though, and eating in a corner of the lobby was very unsatisfactory, especially with loud people filling the bar.

The restaurant and bar staff were quite pleasant, but we had a poor experience with some others, especially at reception. We got two beds despite asking for one large bed. They said they'd move us the next day, but when we asked about it, the staff were dismissive and almost rude, so we dropped it. Then there was no hot water when we checked out very early in the morning.

Right in the middle of Hildesheim, this hotel has some interesting history, good-sized rooms, comfortable beds, and enough parking spaces. The staff let it down, though. Three of the employees we met were simply rude.

Our rooms had been reserved and confirmed 22 days ahead, yet only 30 minutes before arrival we were told a so-called “technical glitch” had left three rooms overbooked. That's no excuse for such poor management and communication. They moved us to a nearby hotel, but handled the change badly, and staff seemed to boast that we'd get it “for the same price,” as if that made up for the hassle. A deeply disappointing experience.
