The hotel’s crime-themed rooms make it a fun choice for krimi fans, though I’d recommend it to anyone. Our Hitchcock room had a horror shower curtain, and the beds were good and everything was clean. I would’ve liked extra pillows. Since it faces the main road, traffic noise was noticeable. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was good, with typical German food, though a little greasy for me. Breakfast is at the hotel next door: a tasty, standard buffet, nothing remarkable. Hillesheim is a pretty little town with an old city wall and lovely scenery. It’s in the middle of Eiffel, so it’s a great base if you enjoy hills, hiking, and views.

There are some fantastic trails nearby, and I’d suggest the Vulkanweg. The room had an old-school feel with a modern bathroom, and the bathroom radio was a fun surprise. An interesting idea for a hotel.

We came with a big group for dinner and didn’t stay overnight. The schnitzels were really good, and the prices felt fair for what you get. I’ll definitely come back next time.

The concept is great and was carried out really well, but the room smelled awful and seemed unclean. Some staff were very unfriendly, and the area didn’t feel safe. The food was overpriced, and nothing can be ordered after 9 pm. Completely useless.

The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff are so friendly. The rooms are small and don’t block much sound. It’s a place to have a party, but keep quiet at night since your neighbours may be trying to sleep.
