Up on a slight hill in Hitzacker town, this is a spacious hotel with good sized outdoor activities, and it's very popular. The staff are friendly and helpful, and each room is a little different. Just be aware there's no lift.

The location was a real surprise, and the service was exceptionally friendly. They speak English, and you can pay by card. Great food, proper lamb sauce, and fine beer.

The food was delicious, and they made me feel very welcome. It's well worth the short walk up the hill. Thanks for the great service.

I can only speak for the restaurant, but the view over the Elbe River and Amt Neuhaus is fantastic. The service was friendly, and they were happy to adapt the menu when I ordered. I had asparagus with butter sauce, boiled potatoes, and Wiener schnitzel instead of pork schnitzel, and it was absolutely delicious 😋👍. They also kept my bicycle pannier safe while I went for a stroll after the meal. I'd recommend visiting the vineyard with a guide. Afterwards, I still had room for a lovely slice of cake and a cappuccino. Highly recommend!
