We’ll gladly stay here again. The family made us feel so welcome, and the room was simple, clean, and comfortable. This family-run hotel and apartment place is a lovely find tucked into beautiful countryside.

The town is worth seeing, and the bat museum is right next door. It’s a great spot to spend a few quiet, relaxing days, with a family running it who are especially kind to children.

I was welcomed so warmly by Frau Stauber as a pilgrim on the Camino. After arriving completely soaked, I was given a hot bowl of soup that evening. The room was perfectly fine, and breakfast the next morning had everything I could want: freshly made bread baked by the husband, sausage, cheese, muesli, jam, and coffee or tea. I’d happily come back.

The garden feels like a little paradise for all ages, with a pool, playground, and the lovely bonus of getting to feed the goats. The apartment had everything we needed, and the owners were warm and helpful. Breakfast was satisfying, and we felt right at home. Thanks so much, dear Stauber family. The garden and pool are lovely, the rooms are clean, and breakfast was excellent. The owners were so friendly that, when we hadn’t realized every other restaurant in Hohenburg was closed on Monday, they treated us to a delicious homemade dinner. It’s a great base for the two-day Wacholderweg hike, and we’d love to return.
