10/10
The location makes it easy to hike, cycle, or just spend time outdoors, with forest all around and a peaceful atmosphere. At Waldhotel Alte Mühle, the rooms were cozy, tidy, and relaxing, and I loved waking to birdsong and fresh air. The place was clean and well managed, and the staff were helpful and welcoming from arrival. Breakfast was fresh and hearty, with a good range of local and organic options. I also really enjoyed the restaurant’s food and wine, along with the friendly service. It’s a charming, comfortable retreat for couples, families, or anyone wanting to unwind in nature. I’d definitely return.

The route wasn’t obvious on my GPS, and I ended up asking at nearby houses twice before finding the way. The road to the forest hotel runs alongside the main road, so it’s worth knowing that in advance. It took me about half an hour to get there.

This is a private, small-scale residence for older people or people with disabilities, with plenty of amenities, though it isn’t a nursing home. Each resident has a room or apartment and can choose to spend time in the shared areas or have some privacy. Set in a valley surrounded by nature, the building is new, sturdy, and very well kept. The owner is caring, easy to reach, and available for emergencies.

There’s a kitchen available for making breakfast, and everything else you need is provided for a relaxing stay. The former mill has its own stream and sits in an idyllic spot. The owner renovated it to a very modern standard and made it wheelchair accessible.

Tucked behind the AdW (Adria), this charming place has been nicely renovated inside and out. The room and bathroom were okay, though the mattresses could do with an update. Fine for a night while passing through...
