Romantikmühle Heartlandranch

We came for horseback riding, and the horses looked well cared for in their large paddocks. The mill is right on a scenic trail and close to Idarkopf mountain. The grounds are nicely kept and pleasant, while the rooms are simple but clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

The horse care was exemplary, and after long rides our horses could relax in a large pasture. We spent a lovely long weekend at the Heartlandranch romantic mill with our two horses, welcomed warmly by Kirsten and Stephan. Breakfast was lovingly prepared, and they were happy to accommodate requests. We enjoyed the fairytale-like forest, though unfortunately many of the trails were gravel or asphalt. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a view of the park-like, well-maintained grounds. Both we and the horses really felt on vacation. Many thanks to Kirsten and Stephan. We’ll be back!

Geocachers can find some really interesting routes here, and anyone looking for peace and quiet will find it too. My husband, our dog Colas, and I have now spent two weeks at the hunting lodge for the second time. The warm hospitality, accommodation, stunning natural surroundings, and wonderful horses once again made for a wonderfully relaxing holiday.

The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and they asked us several times if we wanted muesli or anything else. The room our friends booked looked beautiful and thoughtfully furnished when we were allowed to see it. We were making an exception of staying one night with our roof tent on the property, and everyone was positive about the Romantikmühle and our hosts. Trails for hiking and walking start right from the farm, which is a big plus with dogs. Dogs need to stay on leash there, and owners have to clean up after them. Taking off our shoes before breakfast didn't bother any of us. It felt homey to me, like taking off your shoes after walking across the yard or through the forest before coming into your apartment. Our stay was unfortunately short, but we found it really nice and pleasant, and we'll definitely come back.
