Kutscherhaus am Weiher

I first stumbled across this place 13 years ago when our driveway was blocked, and I was taken with it straight away. The small holiday houses, each with a fairytale name like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, or the Frog Prince, are furnished with so much care. There’s a lovely pond in the middle, with a lovely park all around it. On three Advent weekends, the owner turns the whole property into a winter wonderland and invites everyone in. You’ll find mulled wine, crêpes, mushrooms, fries, sausages, and plenty more, with fire barrels throughout the park. The children can have pony rides in the afternoon and listen to Christmas stories, and there’s a fire show in the evening. The amount of work behind it must be enormous. I’m still amazed and delighted every time I see how beautifully the whole place is decorated for Christmas, down to the smallest details.

We stayed at the coach house with our two children, ages 11 and 8, and they had a fantastic time, especially with the animals. Watching the alpacas while cooking in the kitchen was lovely, and we had everything we needed. The place was very clean and well looked after, and our hostess was incredibly kind, full of wonderful ideas. It was a wonderful, unusual few days where we could enjoy nature, unwind, and forget about everything else. Thank you for the lovely stay. We’ll definitely come back.

If you’re not after somewhere ordinary and overly polished, this place is a great fit. I’ve been twice now. The hosts are lovely, the grounds feel charming and authentic, and the food and drinks are good.

I’ve been to several events, and the Advent magic is just amazing. It’s such a beautiful place, and the care and detail they put into everything is incredible. Keep up the great work!
