The shower has mold, and the water turns cold after less than five minutes in the evening. Its holder and hose are broken, so you keep having to fix them yourself. The toilet flush often runs continuously, the bed pillows were very dirty, and the mattresses are uneven. The oven was dirty when we arrived, and there are too few smoke detectors in the property, which violates fire safety rules. We were also given only one key in the safe despite booking for two people. The landlady seems not to care. Nothing had changed after days, and we were being asked to move out. The management company, "Ferien an der Nordsee," also seemed unconcerned about our complaints or its reputation. With these conditions, the price is too high. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

The mattresses are at different heights, so during the night one of us would slide down to the lower side and push the other toward the edge. Heating was another problem: the radiators never really got warm, and a hot shower was hard to get because the water soon turned cold. The toilet kept flushing, and the broken shower holder let the hose slip out. With weak water pressure, you had to hold the shower head yourself. Our hairdryer was sticky and broken, though they replaced it the next day. The other problems weren’t dealt with. If you ask for fresh towels, you have to collect them from the office downtown. It could have been a nice place to stay if these issues had been sorted out.

The little oystercatcher was perfect for us, and I really can’t understand the earlier criticism. It had everything we needed, with a nice layout and a great location. As with our previous stays, "Holidays on the North Sea" didn’t let us down. We’ve stayed several times and can wholeheartedly recommend them. Thanks so much!

I wouldn’t recommend staying here in winter. I’d specifically asked for the apartment to be heated beforehand, but every radiator was set to zero. I got in at 9:45 PM and had to leave for work at 6:30 the next morning. Thank goodness I had my down jacket.

Right in the middle of Husum, this is a really nice place. Clean, newly renovated, and it has everything you need.
