Matthis Skipperhuus

The Mathis Fischerhuus is such a convenient, peaceful base in Husum's old town. I felt very comfortable there, and you can walk to the Storm House, Husum Castle, Christmas House, shopping street, market square, and harbor. The old-fashioned exterior has been kept, while inside it's modern and comfortable. There’s also a small covered courtyard with a table and seats. A couple of practical things to know: the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are steep, and the bathroom and toilet are downstairs only, in a small room. That could be difficult for young children or anyone with mobility problems. Each bedroom has two large, comfortable beds. Guests have to put the bins out themselves, so a collection schedule would help explain when to put out which bin, yellow or brown. A TV channel list would be useful too. I also missed having a broom, there was only a dustpan and a dustpan, so it wasn't easy to leave the cottage spotless when we left. Just a few suggestions. Otherwise, it was all great, and I highly recommend this cozy, distinctive, centrally located holiday home.

We stayed here at Pentecost 2020 and felt at home right away. We did have to pitch in a bit, weeding the garden and replanting the entrance and flower boxes, but the stay was otherwise really lovely. Honestly, we would have bought the house on the spot 🤩

A really cute, lovely apartment for four people and a dog. Highly recommend it.
