Landhotel Weißes Roß

We had dinner at the Weisses Ross restaurant and really enjoyed the tasty, perfectly prepared food. The menu was well put together, and the wine list was varied, with a good enough selection by the glass too. The main course came right after the starter, though luckily that only happened on the first day. We didn't try the Michelin* restaurant. The hotel is lovely and tucked away in a tiny village, with comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast.

The two four-course dinners were divine, some of the best meals I’ve had in a long time, and there was a great wine selection. The afternoon buffet had salad with lots of toppings and extras, plus several desserts. Staff were pleasant and accommodating throughout, and the shared spaces and my spacious room were clean and well looked after. The bed and bedding were comfortable. I loved the warm, large pool that opens to the outdoors, the different saunas, and all the places to lounge inside and out. The lifting facial left me feeling rejuvenated. I arrived early and had lunch outside with a glass of Elisa Cuvée and a delicious asparagus soup, then spent a quiet afternoon sunbathing on the lawn. I’d have used the free bike rental to explore town if the weekend weather had been better. I really enjoyed my two nights at the White Horse and would return. A few things I’d change: I’m an early riser, so a coffee machine in the room would’ve been handy since weekend breakfast doesn’t start until 8. I don’t understand why water is free in the spa but costs extra at afternoon snack and dinner. I’d also like the sauna to have the pool’s opening hours, and a free cold plunge and hot tub in the wellness area would be nice.

The cook here is off the chain! The kitchen is excellent, the hotel is nicely decorated, and the bar is well stocked. They’ve set a new standard for every hotel I stay at from now on. I’d happily spend a fun weekend here with my wife.

A quiet place to chill out and relax. The food was superb.
