Inselhotel Poel

I'm not sure I'd stay there again... though you never know, perhaps when I'm older.

The location was a real highlight: the beach is only a few minutes away on foot, and you can walk across to Langenwerder, which seems especially appealing for families and anyone who enjoys nature. We also appreciated the ample parking right at the hotel. Our double room was booked for two adults and one child, and we may even have been upgraded to a suite. It was spacious and lovely, with a separate bedroom and living room and a modern, well-kept bathroom. The whole property looked clean, cared for, and high quality. Breakfast was fresh and neatly laid out, with a nice selection. Housekeeping were particularly friendly, attentive, and accommodating, and made us feel welcome. The "Smuggler's Hut" near the beach is also worth mentioning: the owner was exceptionally nice, and the food was delicious. There were a few service issues. When we arrived, reception was empty while three employees were sitting outside chatting. We waited there for about five minutes without anyone coming, then had to ask for help ourselves. Check-in after that was friendly and easy, but we would have liked more warmth, attention, and focus on guests, especially at reception. One breakfast staff member also came across as distant and unfriendly. All in all, it was a pleasant stay in a well-maintained hotel with lovely rooms and a great location. A little more warmth from the service team would have made it perfect.

We had a really relaxing stay and are already thinking about a short break here next year. It was our first visit to this hotel, since we usually stay at other guesthouses on Pöhl. The rooms were spacious, and the service was excellent. We especially liked being able to choose daily room cleaning or have it done individually, which gave us more privacy. Half board is well worth considering: the food was varied and delicious. The only small quibble was the pool and the mixed sauna beside it. At 8-10 meters, the pool is more of a place to stand when several people are in it. That's minor, though, and we highly recommend the hotel.
