Spacious Apartment in Insel Poel near Baltic Sea

Mrs. Jensemar took wonderful care of us, and we felt right at home. The house was clean, nicely furnished, and had everything we could want. There’s always something one could find if looking hard enough, so I don’t understand the earlier review. We’d love to return. Thanks so much.

We loved the apartment’s layout and comfortable, renovated interior, especially the well-equipped kitchen. It’s in a fantastic spot with direct access to the water by boat, and the owner replied right away whenever we had a question or issue. I did take off a star because the refrigerator and toilet weren’t clean.

The private entrance was a real bonus, and the apartment had everything we needed. We brought our dog, and having direct access to the water was especially nice. The location is great. It’s right beside the road, but we didn’t hear any cars. Everything else was fine, though the charges bothered us: €91 for basic cleaning is okay, but an extra €25 to clean up after the dog is excessive.

The area around Poel is beautiful, and I’d gladly visit again, just somewhere else. This place was too dirty, dated, and noisy for us, and the €90 final cleaning fee makes no sense. We can’t understand the previous reviewer’s five stars. I hope the landlord reads this and does something about it. We stayed at the “Zum Breitling” accommodation for 6 (5) days. Getting there and arriving went smoothly. After collecting the key from the safe, we were eager to see apartment No. 4. The terrace and beach chair were shockingly dirty, and cobwebs got in our hair as soon as we walked inside. In the kitchen we found spiders, dead flies, and mosquitoes. We had to air the place out because it smelled musty. The furnishings are old and visibly worn. The kitchen did have a stove, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, and cutlery, plates, cups, and glasses. The toilet area was clean. The beds were extremely worn out, and turning over without waking the child in the next room was nearly impossible. The floor creaked with every step, understandable given the age of the house. We told the landlord about the problems after we arrived and expected a reply, but still haven’t had one. We left a day early because other guests acted as if they had the house to themselves, and after five days our back pain was unbearable.
