Gasthof Berghof

The owner and staff helped us get our car sorted after it broke down unexpectedly on the way to Slovakia. They were so accommodating, which turned a stressful day into a lovely evening. Our room was amazing, and the restaurant food was incredible. Thanks so much for all the help.

We felt safe in the clean rooms, and there was parking right in front of the hotel. The area is quiet, too. The team did their best to help us and make us comfortable, and the service was among the best I’ve had. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to Berghof if we’re in the area and need a hotel.

The manager even offered us free use of his garage since our car was loaded, though we didn’t need it because the area felt very quiet and safe. He also sent us off with tea and coffee for the road. Breakfast had lots of choice, including freshly cooked eggs. We arrived late and still got a very warm welcome. The room was large, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom very good. Everything was extremely clean. We loved the restaurant too: great service, the best food we had on our travels, very reasonable prices, and lovely local beer. It’s a wonderful, traditional place, and we hope to visit again.

We’ve been coming here for 30 years, and the food has always been great. The daily specials are worth checking alongside the usual German dishes on the menu. My dad had a leg of hare tonight and said it was amazing. Gasthof Berghof sits on the hill above our village. They also have a few guest rooms with board, which could suit hikers. A few nice walking routes pass through the village.
