We had a superb dinner at the restaurant, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The wine list was a little limited and pricey, though it did have a good selection. The hotel rooms were a highlight too, spacious, plush, and really comfortable.

I had a really enjoyable stay. The landscape around the hotel is lovely, with a great view, and the way part of the old castle is worked into the architecture gives it an interesting look. The food was good, and I had no issues with the service. I understand it may be quite expensive, but my business trip was paid for by my employer, so I can't comment on the cost myself.

The summer crowds are worth keeping in mind, since this is a popular wedding venue. Rooms cost more on Fridays and Saturdays, and there are lots of people around. It wasn't noisy or a problem, just something to know ahead of time. I hadn't really thought of Germany as a tourist destination, but this stretch of the Rhine near towns like Rudesheim is well worth a visit. The hotel is high end and gets everything right, with two excellent restaurants and views across the Rhine Valley.

Breakfast on the balcony was a treat, with a great view down over the river Rhine valley. The view is astonishing, and being a little above Johannisberg makes you feel almost next to the sky. Great service, impeccable rooms, and very good food and drink. A stylish place to get away.

The breakfast was very good, served in a beautiful room looking out over the vineyard and the Rhyne river. We also had dinner one night, and both the food and the staff were excellent. We especially enjoyed their Johannisberger Schwarzenstein "M" Riesling! When we arrived for our two night stay, Cosima Gretzke greeted us warmly and explained everything. She even walked us to our Castle room, which was spacious and nicely decorated. Cosima is a real asset to the Burg Schwarzenstein organization. Highly recommend.
