The food went down well with everyone, and I especially enjoyed the fish. Inside the inn is very nice and well kept, though the exterior could use some renovation. I didn’t visit the hotel area. One thing to watch: the door by the foyer leading to the steep cellar stairs should always stay locked, so nobody stumbles in.

We traveled a long way for the literary and culinary evening, and it was worth it. Service was quick and very friendly. The three-course meal was delicious, made with quality ingredients, and the dishes came out promptly while still warm, which isn’t always easy when a kitchen is serving so many people at once. We’d happily come back.

The rooms were clean, and the hotel is in a quiet spot. Breakfast was decent, especially the very tasty farm-fresh eggs. When we arrived, though, the hotel was locked and nobody was there. We called a few times before reaching the owner, who came over soon after but greeted us quite coldly. By the time we left, he seemed in a much better mood.

We celebrated our daughter’s baptism here, and would definitely choose the place again for a family gathering. The breakfast was plentiful, lovingly prepared, and delicious, and the hot dishes we’d agreed on ahead of time were just as good. Planning and coordination were extremely easy and smooth. The service and food were both top-notch, and the value for money was excellent. That’s a rare find in the Kalletal area. It’s also highly recommendable as a catering service.
