There are useful extras here, including a guest kitchen, laundry room and bicycle garage, but we won’t be back. The rooms are simply furnished, and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Parking is €4 a day, while breakfast is meager and far too expensive compared with nearby hotels. The hotel itself is decent.

We were greeted so warmly, and the holiday region is beautiful. There’s parking right outside the house, and every room has a terrace or balcony. The little kitchen has everything you might need, including a small fridge and coffee machine for a quick coffee, snacks or drinks. It’s best to arrive by car or be happy cycling, though, if you want to explore the surrounding area.

It’s a hotel, just not a four- or five-star one. The rooms are clean and have what you need, including power outlets, and there’s a hairdryer in the bathroom. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay, and the rolls were absolutely delicious.

We felt very comfortable here and will definitely return. It’s a lovely family-run hotel with a personal touch, and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with several kinds of coffee and tea. The location makes it easy to get around. The Schlei is a two-minute walk away, Kappeln is five minutes by car, and the nearest beach is just under ten minutes away. Both are easy to reach by bike too. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and consistently clean. Unlike what earlier reviews said, there’s now a large modern TV. Downstairs rooms have flexible partitions on the terraces, and there’s seating and a table in the room as well as on the balcony or terrace. The roomy wardrobe has plenty of storage.
