We stayed here with our dog at the beginning of January, and the poor weather meant we spent a lot of time inside. We had everything we needed: a well-equipped kitchen, plenty of space, a lovely view, enough privacy despite the big windows, and parking right outside. Meerzeit, our landlord, was always available and very helpful. A few small things are why I’m giving four stars instead of five. The fly screen on the patio door wouldn’t stay closed, so it slammed loudly in strong winds. The kitchen lighting was too dim for chopping on the counter, and the TV was very small, something we noticed because we spent so much time indoors. These are minor issues, and we’d still recommend the apartment. We were very comfortable. Ostseeresort Olpenitz was a perfect holiday spot with our dog. There’s a small beach within walking distance, and a much larger one about a five-minute drive away.

The best thing about this well-designed holiday home is its prominent position, with an open view of both lake and sea. The view is lovely, but the owner charges above average for it. At just under €1,600 in the off-season, the little problems with the furnishings are hard to overlook. The ceiling badly needs painting. There isn’t enough seating in the living area for the number of beds, so someone always had to use the uncomfortable chair. The parasol base also looks ready to break because its holder is so loose. The resort is much too densely built, with no footpaths or cycle paths. There are hardly any restaurants or tourist activities within walking distance. These flaws might be easier to accept at a low price, but there are better-quality options in this price range.

The apartment is absolutely top-notch, with nothing missing. It’s fantastic. The surrounding area, though, is completely built up. Less would have been more.

The view is fantastic, and the place is modern, clean, and lovingly furnished. I’d definitely come back!
