There’s a small beach close by, and the long continuous stretch of beach from Schönhagen to Damp is only a few minutes away. The location is a dream, with spacious rooms and upscale amenities. When the captain waves from his ship at breakfast, you really know you’re right by the water. There aren’t many restaurants or other things to do apart from walking along the beach, though new options are being developed. For shopping, Kappeln is about 10 minutes by car and Eckernförde about 25 minutes. The only letdown was the rather weak sauna. Otherwise, everything was excellent.
