The sea, lighthouse, and little nature reserve, with sheep grazing right on the property, made for a wonderfully relaxing view. Villa du Soleil really is a sunny dream of a place, and I wish we could have stayed longer. For a villa in this category, I expected top quality throughout, and most of it was there, though a few things could be better. On our first day, the water was cold because the heating had failed. It was fixed right away, even though it was Sunday, but that should have been checked before guests arrived. Some items also felt out of place for a luxury stay: the coffee machine looked like it came from Kaufland or Jawoll, the outdoor wooden furniture had turned green in the climate, and one lounger slat was broken. The upstairs rooms face the router and are furnished rather poorly. One of them gets no internet at all, so a repeater would help. Water pressure is too high, which isn’t a problem at the mixer taps, but the showers only have an on/off button and no way to adjust it. A great villa, with some room for improvement.

The Roman blinds were a real nuisance: they went up by themselves after exactly an hour, which made putting the children down for naps difficult. We raised it, but it was initially brushed aside. We were promised clarification after complaining, then heard nothing more. That was poor customer service and took away from the stay a little. Still, we had a wonderful time at “Villa do Soleil Olpenitz” and would recommend it. The house is spacious and cozy, with exceptionally comfortable beds, a standout bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. The barbecue and raclette grill were nice extras too. It’s in a quiet, beautiful spot with a view of the sea and a picturesque headland that’s a nature reserve. The beach is only a two-minute walk away. The house was impeccably clean on arrival, and the appliances were in excellent shape: high-quality Bosch kitchen appliances, a Bosch/Siemens washer and dryer that worked perfectly, and Samsung TVs. The terrace was a lovely place to relax, with a lounge area, two armchairs, and sun loungers. Booking and the rest of the process were smooth, and communication was good apart from the unresolved blinds issue.
