Some of the ice cream choices were unusual, and the ones we tried were all good!

Our room was beautifully furnished, very clean, and had an incredibly comfortable bed. I stayed for the weekend with my son, and we had a lot of fun in Kassel. The hosts gave us a very warm welcome and even let us park right outside. They were incredibly accommodating, quick to help with any questions, and took great care of us. Our boys played together and had a blast. We’ll definitely stay here again if we come back!

The landlady was incredibly kind and friendly, and even left us a bottle of water. The location is ideal for a city trip, and parking is available on the property for a small fee. Our basement apartment was bright and welcoming despite being below ground, very clean and tidy, and tastefully furnished. The small room felt cozy, especially the bed, but the bathroom was cramped. We couldn’t close the shower door without losing access to the sink, and had to air the bathroom out thoroughly after showering because otherwise the moisture wouldn’t clear. As far as I know, pets unfortunately aren’t allowed.

The central location was the main plus, just a five-minute walk from the city center. The room was clean and functional, but being in the basement, it felt like a cellar. The view was of either the landlords’ carport or a dreary delivery driveway, and the bars on the windows took getting used to. It was noisy at times, probably because the landlord’s laundry room was also downstairs. It was quite cold. Even with the undersized radiator set to 5, the room didn’t get reasonably warm until the second day. One window was partly open enough to fit a hand through, but there was no handle to close it. The bathroom was tiny, definitely not usable by two people at once. The doorway was too narrow, and my 1.76 m partner immediately hit his head. The toilet seat was loose, a wall was damp, the sink was broken, and the radiator’s plug was almost useless because it couldn’t heat the room. There was also a slightly musty smell. In the bedroom, what seemed to be a former sink drain had just been stuffed with paper. Check-in, with the landlord in a tracksuit, and checkout took about a minute, and we weren’t given any information such as the Wi-Fi password. I quickly got the impression the landlord was just trying to make a quick buck. Service and friendliness to guests could be better.
